Looking to find a social economic solution to their problems.

I support the concept, just not anti-socialists finding their lives fucked up and then asking people to bail them out.

5. Bailing people out?

Socialism is not about bailing people out. Private charity is not a social economic solution to social problems, it is the exact opposite.

They are asking for voluntary contributions - not asserting an economic principle of shared ownership of wealth (whether by the workers or the government) in which they have a right to a share of the wealth currently owned by a few.

No problem with objecting to those who don't want to help others seeking help - it's just not socialism.

I think the concept of reaching out to others is anathema to the anti-socialists.

11. First - since they are doing it, it is apparently not an anathema to some.

And even if it was an anathema to all of them - being an anathema does not transform an act of requesting assistance into the economic and political system of socialism.

So they made their own socialism safety net underneath the first socialism safety net. It is called GiveSendGo, and the founders were explicitly Christian, and alt-right.

From Wikipedia:

GoFundMe, a major crowdfunding platform, prohibits in its terms of service any "campaigns that raise money to cover the legal defense of anyone formally charged with an alleged violent crime"[17][18] as well as campaigns promoting hate and intolerance.[19] GiveSendGo first rose to prominence after it allowed several campaigns to fundraise that GoFundMe had previously removed,[9] in particular for Kyle Rittenhouse,[9] rioters who attacked the U.S. Capitol on January 6,[9][20][21] and the Canada convoy protest.[5][7][22][4]

-------
Relationship to right-wing extremism

In January 2022, the British anti-disinformation organization Logically reported that GiveSendGo was the hub for a far-right funding network that included QAnon supporters, anti-vaccine activists and the far-right group Project Veritas.[8] A January 2023 report by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) stated that GiveSendGo had hosted 230 fundraising campaigns tied to extremist groups and causes.[11] The ADL described GiveSendGo as "a singularly important part of the extremist fundraising ecosystem" that enabled extremist groups to raise $5.4 million since 2016.[24][25][26]

We will have to have it eventually, unless we want to destroy the system entirely.

Asking strangers for money in a public place. And they do give, depending on how good your story is.

But it's panhandling. Begging on the street corner, more or less.
