The drafters of the 14th Amendment would have

inscribed “the children and descendants of slaves” if that’s what they meant.

The operative word is “all” with no qualifications.

. . . For anyone to suggest that the drafters of the 14th Amendment didn't understand the import of their wording of the amendment is simply ludicrous!

my IPAD and strangle him. That voice is bad enough, but he seems to think if he speaks so damned fast and emphatically (and often yelling--especially toward the women SCOTUS justices), that it makes his case. Honestly, I know they will take WHAT he is saying (however ridiculous) and not HOW he is saying it first and foremost, but damn. It certainly won't help if any are on the "fence."

I presume Trump is there "listening" (yeah, right)... Well if he is awake at all, he is hearing SCOTUS give him hell for his overreach (to put it mildly). I won't discount a few voting in clear opposition to the constitution on Trump's behalf, but I am hoping it will be no worse than 7-2 (Thomas & Alito). We shall see.
