Of course what is being left out of the conversation intentionally is the CONTEXT that it was the United States under trump that intentionally, and blatantly refused to consult with our NATO allies before the ignoramus in the white house started attacking Iran unilaterally with Israel, bypassing both NATO and Congress.

It is so glaring and so obvious, and yet the elephant in the room is almost completely ignored, including the fact that it was trump under his first administration who walked away from the negotiated Iran nuclear deal that he COULD HAVE BUILT UPON.

The state of our country is an embarrassment and a disgrace that the populace actually elected this imbecile twice.

2. It's worse than that. NATO was never under any obligation to help the US wrt Iran. NATO is a *defensive* alliance.

The NATO agreement obligates its members to help defend any member that has been attacked. It has no duty to help another member start or continue a war of that member's choosing.
