He is younger than my youngest kid. He is an entitled smart-ass and that comes across loud and clear. Getting straight news from him is, I suppose, tolerable. Having him give his "opinion" to some other moron teevee host is worthless bullshit. Having him "explain" things as if he were knowledgable is insulting to anyone who watches MSNBC (who is likely more informed that he is.)
Listening to him prattle on as MSNBC's Cliff Watch continues is painful.

End of the interview, he did that thing that the lazy clown "journalists" do and hit her with, "So, a run for Governor in 2014?"
Shultz strongly, with an condescending edge said, "that would be a BIG no."
I suspect they don't respect him much, either.

(3,596 posts)While I didn't necessarily agree with Tim Russert on many issues, I respected him. I thought he did an admirable job of being an objective journalist. But his son is either too ideological to be a competent "journalist" or simply too young and too inexperienced for his job.
I wish him well. I hope he either finds his rightful place on Clear Channel Communications or at Fox or he "mans up" and realizes how stupid he sounds.

He doesn't have to talk to them like Andy Hardy would to Judge Hardy's peers, he doesn't have to call Alex Witt "Ms Witt," but for godssakes don't talk to people who've invested a lifetime into a career in journalism like you're on equal footing. It degrades them and it degrades viewers' relationship to and reliance on the "4th estate."

But I'm using it as the stand-in for the kind of out-of-the-way nothing sort of place he'd be in if he actually got a job on his own merit.

(47,649 posts)When he comes on I have to either fast-forward or change the channel. He reminds of a 12 year old who gets to sit at the adult's table and tries to act like a grown up. You can tell he practices in front of the mirror to look more serious and authoritative. He does this funny little thing with his eye brows and it is so goofy.
He looks like a SNL sketch of an inexperienced, privileged son of a famous television personality. I'm afraid this kid will NEVER be ready for prime time.
