Not all green card spouses care if they're naturalized or not - applying for the extension every ten years like they would for a passport is something they could have their secretary do for them.

(390 posts)Trump's proposal has to do with people born on US soil AFTER his executive order. So Rubio, or Trump's children, would not fall into that category. A baby born on US soil after the executive order would need to have one parent who is a US citizen or lawful permanent resident to claim citizenship.
