Florida man arrested after human remains found in suitcases 'saturated by vultures,' cops say

A 19-year-old Florida man was arrested after suitcases containing human remains were found in Palm Bay, police said.

Lucas Jones was arrested Sunday and booked into the Brevard County Jail on charges including abuse of a dead human body, improper disposal of human remains, and tampering with evidence in a criminal proceeding, records showed.

On Saturday, Palm Bay Police officers had responded to a remote area called the "Compound" after receiving a report about a suitcase lying on the ground "saturated by vultures," an arrest report said.

Officers found one suitcase that was lying in tall grass an emitting an odor with a flap partially open, the report said. .......................(more)

When choosing a word that fits the gruesome tone while being more accurate, they should have considered:

Swarmed: This is the most common and accurate term for a large group of animals or insects crowding or moving around an object.

Besieged: This suggests the suitcase was under a kind of "attack" or completely overwhelmed by the birds.

Overrun: Similar to swarmed, this implies the vultures have completely taken over the space around the suitcase.

Enveloped: This suggests the birds were so numerous they completely covered or obscured the suitcase from view.

Blanketed: Often used to describe a thick layer of something (like birds) covering a surface.

Objects are saturated with a substance (e.g., "saturated with blood''), but being "saturated by vultures" implies the vultures themselves have soaked into the fibers of the suitcase, which is physically impossible.

I’d be surprised if he shows up for court. Hope he has an ankle monitor on for what that’s worth.

And the girlfriend said she drove him to the body dump site where he left suitcases?
This guy must have a wizard for a lawyer. Or he has money. Or he has a relative in the justice system.
