Screw Dennis Hastert, his "Rule", and you too, Luke

Luke Russert: "I should point out...81 Republican votes right now...this is technically a violation of the 'Hastert Rule' which is something that Speaker Boehner said he wanted to abide by going into this final Fiscal Cliff deal, which is to get a majority of the majority..."

The Dennis Hastert Rule is not a law, it is an undemocratic act of lockstep GOP obstruction that has kept lawmakers from even considering legislation that may not have total GOP support.

Russert points this out as if Boehner did something wrong, as opposed to doing his job of bringing legislation to the floor of US House for consideration and vote.

And Luke also adds: "Some folks will take a victory lap here on the left, I'm sure Mitch McConnell is happy he was able to do this with Joe Biden... a sigh of relief, but this is the beginning of the beginning for whats gonna to be a very very partisan trench warfare next 3 months in Washington, DC. I know a lot of folks are giddy right now...they are saying 'this is bi-partisanship' and 'this is how the democracy and the republic is supposed to work'..Sure, but listen, there are gonna be a lot more of these."

People here may not like him; I'm among them, but, really, no need to play repug games.
