Senator Chuck Schumer: Trump is a military moron.

His war, with a price tag of $44 billion and $4+ gas, made us worse off today than we were when he started it.
And if he restarts this war we will be in even worse shape. We must pass our War Powers Resolution to end this war for good.

it got revealed as one of the biggest military blunders in recent history.

We really need to ramp up the messaging about what a blunder it was. We are off to a good start, but need to really keep that message front and center. And THIS is exactly why the Constitution does not give the President the power to start wars on his own.

This is a very good communication. It gets right to the point. And it calls for a very specific action that is achievable and would be effective if we can accomplish it.

I know many people think it will be impossible to move the Republicans to do the right thing. But it starts with a very clear position, and we build from there. Public pressure can force the Republicans to take action. This is the right plan, IMHO.

Good job, Chuck !!

This is incrementalism. Call for the 25th or impeachment, but fixing laws that he’s already broken is just busy work at this point.

Impeachment requires 2/3 of the Senate. 25th requires 2/3 of BOTH the House and Senate. That will not happen.

The war powers thing CAN happen, and I am thankful Shumer is staking out a very simple, strong position on this and I hope he drives it through the entire Dem caucus -- including Fetterman.

And the House has the extra power of being in a position to block all the military funding until the war powers act is fixed.

... that people would stop tip-toeing around this one irrefutable fact: TRUMP IS A PSYCHOPATH! Only a psychopath would blithely kill thousands of people simply to distract public attention from his thousands of other crimes, like raping under-age girls.
It is not possible to rehabilitate a psychopath. That requires an admission of wrongdoing. A psychopath will never, ever take responsibility for his, or her, actions. Not EVER. It's always someone else's fault. Beginning to sound familiar?
Making excuses for someone utterly bereft of morality, as Trump most assuredly is, only affords him more time to concoct an excuse, to threaten the lives of his accusers, or to shift blame onto whatever patsy comes to mind at the moment.
Bottom line: We are fast approaching a point where legal niceties are only an impediment to what everyone knows must be done to safeguard the country, and indeed, the world. This is not hyperbole, this is as real as a heart attack. Trump MUST be removed from office, and muzzled. He is an irredeemable monster. And so is Pete Hegseth, and Stephen Miller, and Russell Vought, and the list goes on... and on... and on.

I mean, he achieved his goals.

He gave Putin more income and sanction relief
He got to let drunkboy blow up some muuzlims.
He got a few weeks off of seeing Epsteins name in major headlines.
His circle got to personally benefit from the betting markets.
He got to divert interceptors from the Ukrainian war.

And he was, loathe than i am to admit it, smarter than Putin or Bush. He surrendered quickly instead committing to a multiyear war then eventually having to surrender.
