Ballots for the California primary are mailed out in May. Even though Swalwell's name will remain on the ballot, with

Swalwell bowing out of the race for Governor before the ballots have been mailed out, this means no vote has been cast yet for Swalwell, and gives plenty of time for those who were going to vote for Swalwell, to consider and vote for any of the other Democrats on the ballot.

The Debate for the California primary for governor will take place May 5, ahead of the June 2 primary election.

Something nasty smell to me about this smear campaign....I am indeed disappointed Democrats are throwing him under the bus without firm data and evidence....

There is no rush to throw him away....just on chatter allegations....

They are just throwing him under the bus quickly, without evidence to protect themselves....i would and have expected Democrats to stand by one another.....this is not the case....Their behavior is a sheeple style, run it thru the drive-thru style.... that is weakness.....

i say....I want evidence not lip service....I want to support good Democrats who have fought for you and me...Swalwell has such a track record.... I hold any such judgment at this time.

Five years later, the woman said, she attended an April 2024 charity gala where Swalwell was honored. The woman, who no longer worked for Swalwell, said they met for drinks afterward, during which she became so inebriated that she remembers only snippets of the night, including pushing Swalwell away and telling him, “No,” while he allegedly forced himself on her.

The woman texted a friend three days later that she was “sexually assaulted” by Swalwell. She wrote in a series of messages reviewed by the Chronicle that she had “blacked out” but “woke up once during it and even told him to stop at one point.”

(snip)

The Chronicle spoke with the friend and the woman’s then-boyfriend, whom she said she told about the alleged 2024 assault when she got home the next day. Both described her as still disoriented that morning, and her then-boyfriend said he encouraged her to report Swalwell to the police.

The woman said she did not go to the authorities because she was afraid they would not believe her. Medical records show she obtained pregnancy and STD tests a week after the incident.

we’re a party that, rt now, needs high standards. we need to b the exact opposite of the rethuglicans.

the fact that he was sending out cease and desist letters since last yr is all the proof i need.

Nonconsensual sex, or rape, often needs to rely on testimonial evidence as well as DNA evidence, medical exams, and such. At least one of the victims has some such evidence. We don't know if the victim intends to press legal charges against Eric Swalwell or not but the Manhattan DA has opened an investigation and has opened a line of communication for the victim. Eric Swalwell through his lawyers has attempted to keep this victim silent and has also threatened to file defamation charges against her. People who know Eric Swalwell and the victims are taking these allegations seriously.

This is not just chatter, or a smear campaign. This is a serious matter and it needs to be taken seriously.

6. There's a debate on April 28th as well

I expect between the 28th and the 5th, we will see some drop outs and endorsements, then have the debate on the 5th as a kind of final clarifying pitch for the likeliest candidates.

At least I hope it goes that way.
