So many kids know they're not getting the education they should be getting because of AI.
The thread started yesterday, when there was also a news story about students objecting to AI use at the Berklee College of Music - https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143650913 - but the Reddit thread has nothing to do with that.

(4,816 posts)My grandson is a junior in college and said he knows another student who has never written a paper without AI. I think back to my undergrad days at Slippery Rock State College ( yes there is a Slippery Rock University now), up all night typing and retyping papers with info from many hours spent in the library. It was a lot of work but we were really learning then.

(590 posts)It appears our academic system is churning out students who cant think for themselves. Ripe pickings for radical propaganda.

(1,975 posts)factually so the institutions can get more grants to waste money on and prvoide graft for the administrations.
BTW, this is going on at high school levels for local schools to get more funding to pay more probably less qualified teachers to teach less. But they'll convince locals to pony up more in taxes to pay for important things like new football fields, seldom used swimming pool and a number of other items that kids don't use today.
