Trump's arch gets overwhelmingly negative public feedback but appears poised to move forward

President Donald Trump’s proposed triumphal arch project received overwhelmingly negative feedback from preservationist groups and members of the public as plans for the massive structure were presented on Thursday to a key committee for the first time.

But the Commission of Fine Arts still appears poised to approve the project and took a preliminary vote to move ahead with the process. The independent federal agency, which has been stacked with Trump loyalists, advises the president and Congress on design plans for monuments, memorials, coins and federal buildings.

Trump has been deeply involved in the project to build an arch as he takes significant steps to impose his style and taste on the nation’s capital during his second term. He has already added his name to the Kennedy Center and the US Institute of Peace and is overseeing a major ballroom addition to the White House complex.

The president has said he wants it to be the biggest arch in the world, modeled after Paris’ Arc de Triomphe — but larger. It would be the equivalent of a 16- to 20-story building, taller than the White House, the Lincoln Memorial and the US Capitol building. The project is already facing a legal challenge from a Vietnam War veterans’ group related to its scale and obstruction of the view of the Arlington National Cemetery.

Not any time soon at least... too political I suspect and we'll be entering a phase of "letting the past be" as people seek to "mend fences."

Here we were being regaled by MAGA CONpiracists for 15 years that America was RULED by Obama for THREE FULL TERMS... during this time he was reviled for wearing a brown suit, marrying a man, enacting revenge on Americans of all types... yet all of these Americans stood STRONG... citing heroes like Joan Rivers, Joe Rogan, Alex Jones who BRAVELY spoke the truth in the face of Obama's secret, invisible but intractable hold on power... YET anyone could attack this all powerful secret hegemon online, on tv, podcasts, websites, travel the world spreading oppobrium in the crudest of terms.

At no point in the last 15 months has ANY of these cranks revealed the moment when Obama LOST his omnipotent power ... maybe he hasn't lost it yet as Trump boldly fights like an ancient warrior against this brown crusader of Satan's will!!!

However not ONE obstacle will stand in the way of this MASSIVE tribute to Trump. It will sit in its MEGATONAGE on that mall. A bunker busting thermonuclear warhead will do no more than scorch it. Try to name a preschool after Obama in Kansas and the stonemason would be burned at the stake for raising a hammer to begin to carve the inscription, but every single stone and gold statuary in Trump's monument shall gleam in solemn glory if ten thousand of us sacrificed our very lives to attempt to stop it. THAT is the world we live in.

Traitor visited Mount Vernon and asked, “Why isn’t Washington’s name everywhere?”

Tragic for the nation and planet, with all his brains, briefers and miseducation, that constitutes his idea of a legacy.

So, instead of a common triumphal arch, let’s give him what he thinks he deserves…

If this nation decides to keep monuments constructed by this madman, it deserves ass holes like him to rule it. Seriously, fuck his ego projects.

Every democrat should pledge to tear these monstrosities down.

Still 2 obstacles. The FAA and according to the article, local DC govt. which I’m guessing would not be a friendly environment for him. Between those things and any other obstacles that might come up there is an outside chance all the red tape could push this back to the point where it can’t be done and the next president (which we hope is a Democrat) cancels the project.
