I making a delivery here in the St Paul Mn area. I am getting unloaded when this Trump wearing T-shirt guy pulls in. He is all confused about where to check in so I stopped him and gave him instructions what to do. Before I could finish he turns around and walks away mad at me, because I wasn’t polite enough! He didn’t follow my instructions. He cusses me out for being rude!

I just laughed and rolled up my window. You help someone out and that is what you get for helping!

Well, to add to this, that driver back into another driver’s trailer that was in a door getting unloaded. Did pretty good damage to the side of that. KARMA WILL GET YOU EVERY TIME!

6. The biggest problem

with a growing segment of these Semi Drivers today, is the new drivers that have no training, no CDL, and no experience, working for firms that have NO INSURANCE..............
One of the worst accidents in Denver was caused by a driver, with no CDL, couldn't read the traffic signs that were english, missed the run-away truck ramp. They investigated the firm he worked for, and the firm had over 50? drivers all without CDL's, Experience, and unable to read/speak english.......

9. How is this possible?

I mean .. seriously.... How is this even possible? Did the owners of the firm that had 50 unqualified drivers get prosecuted, fined, and jailed? And for those companies that have drivers with CDLs and those drivers can't speak English - how are they getting their CDLs to begin with? Corrupt state police officers? (It was the Arkansas State Police that tested me).

I agree that training is a problem. A number of CDL schools that offer training sponsored by a "mega carrier" will get you a CDL with the ability only to drive automatics, no manuals. They want a quick ROI. I'm one of those folks who went through the Auto Only CDL course. Fortunately for me most fleets are going to automatic transmission trucks so I'm not stuck but I do wish I had more training.

If it were me I'd change the minimum time from acquiring a commercial learners permit to being able to take the test from 14 days to 28 days... And once you've passed your test that you have to drive supervised with another licensed driver for at least 3 months after that. Once you've had that amount of on-road time and having passed the tests can you go out and drive solo .

15. The authorities in some localities

are just now STARTING to targeting these drivers and driver schools. They just busted one school somewhere and went thru all the licenses their students had obtained, and pulled all of the licenses of everyone that went to that school....

Un-insured and Under-insured truck drivers are not all you have to worry about........Denver Police estimated ten years ago that 20% of the drivers in Denver were un-insured.......I am sure it is a much higher %age today. Decades ago I added both of those coverages to my auto policies, along with as much medical as they offered, and a million dollar umbrella policy on top of that !!!!!
Now, all the auto insurance companies are advertising super low rates, and that absolute minimum coverage, at that price, won't cover jack shit.
