Graham Platner talks John Fetterman

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/b13JCO_eeIk

I have been clear that I supported Mills, but am resigned to the reality.

Hopefully this youtube short is a balm to those of us that are concerned, but willing to have an open mind.

... address his past comments on race to a group of Black people, his past comments on LGBTQ issues to a group representing each of those potential constituencies, and to explain how his epiphanies regarding those past offensive remarks came to be.
A lot of people whom I have always held in high regard appear to have jumped on the Platner bandwagon awfully quickly, and I'd like to know how they came to make that decision, and what is it about Governor Miller, who has demonstrated her low opinion of Trump in no uncertain terms, that they dislike so much that they would prefer someone with a questionable past opinions and zero legislative experience instead of a proven Progressive voice with an extensive political track record.
It seems to me that too much is being glossed over here, and I hope the distinctive fragrance wafting on the breeze isn't that of Trojan Horse shit. Others have already made mention of Fetterman's turn about, and we've seen it before in candidates that ran – and won – as Democrats, only to betray their constituencies by going over to the Dark Side.
Diogenes would have his work cut out for him were he to wander into the halls of Congress.

But I do agree.

The only time he sounds like he makes sense is when he is regurgitating scripted text. Whenever he's in an unscripted context, he's either 'splaining or complaining and not talking about what he plans to do to address our problems.

This is why he is doing well in that state . It's a largely white state. The Jewish population is also very low.

"There are elements of me that I think are much more legitimate when it comes to someone from the normal world."

I'm wearing a Fetterman-like hoodie right now (Ordinary Normal World Working Class Guy campaign outfit) but will wear a suit in the Senate because you have to when you are on the floor, you have to be on the floor, otherwise what's the point.

Fetterman had political ambitions, tried to get into politics for a long time (suspicious, isn't it?). I am really just an oyster farmer with no ambition except to be harbormaster in my little working class town (trust me). My reason for getting into politics is that the Senate is a place of power for the elites (both sides) to hold back working class power.

We need loud voices wearing suits in the Senate, Fetterman doesn't come from that structural critique (?) has been inconsistent on his policies. For instance, he has always supported Israel. But I have been consistent because I wrote op-eds condemning genocide in Gaza long before running for Senate (but Gaza).

talks "working class" but Why is this considerd "working class?"

Yup, "honesty" where he talks about the Senate and Congress made up of 'elites'. And Graham is just a regular working class, average, hardworking everyday Joe. Strange considering he attended private school (college prep school cost 12.5K a year) comes from a very wealthy family. He is not your average 'working man'.

Divisive simplistic Us vs Them populism. In 2026, still doing this, resulting in less support for Democrats against the real enemy (who the fuck can't see this), Republicans.

For what! Punishing the Democratic Party takes up most of the time, Republicans are mentioned almost as an afterthought.

only he can fix everything.

Whoa does he have a rude awakening if he should get on the Senate floor in his suit.

We Need Dems from all 50 States to Win, Planter.

Thankfully, Dems are Winning All over the country in local elections. Overperforming and flipping red seats to blue, in Red States and Districts.

And, of course, there are those two new Dem Govs, Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill.. "Establishment"... LOL.

On the defensive when asked about himself but always attacking everyone else who could get us out of this.

If we keep putting novices in important roles, we will have only the best that untested trainees can offer... which isn't what we need.

I guess oyster farming is getting to be too much work?

Anyone with a vertical learning curve is not getting my vote.
