(25,905 posts)1. A court has stopped the U.S. government from forcing Apple to take down ICE reporting apps from the App Store,
due to it being a violation of the First Amendment.
Given Apple's general compliance with the government lately, I almost misread the headline.
HOORAY FOR WHAT'S LEFT OF THE CONSTITUTION!
It actually wasn't Apple that complained.
In February, a lawsuit from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) took aim at the U.S. government over the right to report the activities of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).
I got a copy of ICEBlock before it was yanked from the store.
There are websites that let you report ICE depravities, but apps are more convenient.
Here are some hotlines for rapid response:

I didn't find a list of websites, but you can search for now. It would take a lot of time to copy the links and format a list.

I've adjusted the headline, but I don't think anything else needs changing.

(17,256 posts)2. Is the court ordering Apple to reinstate it, or is it up to them?

(4,570 posts)4. It's up to the publishers of the apps to negotiate with Apple AFAICT /nt
