Its based on a similar premise. Why cant we call Hegseth, Trump, and RFK Jr woke anti-vaxxers?

(114,315 posts)A bit like a minority of so-called Feminist women wanting to reclaim the "C" word, because the Brits don't consider it a slur. Well, as one who suffered under the free use of that slur by men in a decidedly male-dominated workplace, I can assure you any attempts to "reclaim" backfired big time! And, I bear the emotional and career-damaging scars to prove it.

(114,315 posts)To imply the IGNORANT are ENLIGHTENED or WOKE or whatever you want to say (besides DANGEROUSLY & WANTON IGNORANT) is to buy into their premise.
Vaccination decisions do not simply impact the individual. People HAVE to wake up to the fact that the most important reason we push vaccination is to limit the risk for US ALL! Many cannot be vaccinated because they are too young to do so, too immune-compromised, or similar. So they can only be protected by all of us being vaccinated to reduce the risk sufficiently that they do not have to remain in a damned bubble. Remember the bubble boy? That was real.
Hell no, these RW MAGAT anti-vaxxers are NOT "WOKE." Anything but-- unless you believe the RW frame of "woke" used against the BEST OF US is somehow appropriate.
