At today's hearing for Howard Lutnick, this exchange occurred when Dean was questioning him:
Dean: Why did you lie to the New York Post about your relationship with Epstein?
Lutnick: The House Oversight Committee and I agreed--
Dean: Reclaiming my time. I do not accept that answe. We are our own committee. You're dodging the question. The coverup continues."
Can you imagine trump facing a press corps with this kind of guts? He'd be a blubbering pool of tears in thirty seconds.

(25,260 posts)I am following this on Aaron Rupar's bluesky. He reported that Lutnick just didn't answer one of the questions today at all. But it wasn't this one.

(843 posts)Access. A White House reporter has to have access or they cant do their job. Yes, as the courts have ruled, AP cannot be barred from the press room. But they can be ignored when it comes to asking questions or being allowed to talk to White House officials.
A congressional representative at a hearing is a whole different story.
And thats why no one has taken up this challenge:
