Carlson let's Sachs speak. He has some dire predictions on the consequences of the Iran war, if it isn't settled. Infrastructure destruction, capital fleeing the Gulf, food inflation. The effects on the American dollar. Nations already in trouble financially, ethnically or politically will be first to collapse. Dominoes falling. In a calm a clear voice he gives his dire warning.
This is Professor Sachs interviewed by Tucker Carlson.

Carlson was essentially silent. Listen to Sachs. Our time is running out.

(953 posts)go anywhere near Tucker Carlson. Sachs is helping Carlsons opportunistic rebranding, which is totally phoney on its face. Carlsons so-called apology was a pivot to the political right of TSF. He should be kryptonite to any serious person. Sachs has access to many other outlets.

(11,002 posts)To denounce Israel and the killing in Gaza and Lebanon. He and Candace have some of the top platforms in the world and being Trump hates and is fighting with them big time turns the Republican Party into a civil war.
Between Tucker & Candace over 40 million people are listening to their podcasts and both are extremely anti-war and both have had their lives threatened. Tucker said Netanyu called him personally to threaten him . Trump HATES both of them for daring to preach against bombing children in Gaza and Lebanon. Tucker especially goes crazy when Israel bombs Christian churches.
Sacks has access to many outlets? Does he? Do you see main stream news putting him on? Let me know if I missed it.
On X, I follow both right & left to get a feeling of whats going on in general. The Republican civil war is amazing to check out now with even Alex Jones calling for using the 25th amendment. When you lose Alex Jones, MTG, Tucker, Dave Smith, Massie, Dan Bilzerian, Joe Kent, Health Ranger, Carrie Prejean Boiler, Theo Von, Saagar Enjeti etc etc etc
Even Charlie Kirk was visiting Trump big time begging him not to attack Iran in the weeks before he was murdered. Kirk even got calls from Netanyahu offering TPUSA big bucks but Charlie said no.

(19,225 posts)You should check his recent history - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Sachs#COVID-19_pandemic
-- US should not support Ukraine
-- "In August 2022, Sachs said on a podcast of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that officials such as Anthony Fauci were not being honest about the origins of COVID."
He has an impressive list of associations and leadership positions of liberal-sounding organizations ... but how much is real?
I don't know, just posing the question.
I did listen to the first hour of the OP's link. The first several minutes were an excellent recap of US history related to Iran. But then he got off on a screed about Israel and Netanyahu.
While I generally agree with his apparent position on Netanyahu, it occurred to me that NOT.ONCE. had he mentioned Hamas or Palestinian terrorist violence towards Israeli civilians (or in the case of Oct. 7, random citizens of many countries). NOT ONCE in a half hour or so of stating how awful Israel is to act as if it must have military control over the entire Middle East. I realized that I would be much more open to hearing more of his views on the topic if he didn't act as if the wrong was all one-sided. IMO, Netanyahu thrives politically because HAMAS and its ilk create justification in the minds of Israelis for Bibi's policies.
All that said, I lean toward agreeing with his general point about where things are headed with the Iran war, and the general wish that the US was not spending so much money helping Bibi and Likud pursue their fantasies of Middle East domination.

(10,990 posts)He will just let this sit, just like he does when hes reached a stalemate in any other situation. He doesnt have any politically good options and he never admits failure. And, to make matters worse, he doesnt care when people suffer, as long as he doesnt.
