Only the Democrats are for increased gun control and a ban on assault weapons. And as far as "heated rhetoric", which Dems are being scolded about by the likes of Dana Bash this morning, there is no comparison between the rhetoric used by Ds and the president himself.
I agree with Ron Filipkowski about this: "Anyone suggesting we should stop accurately pointing out factual ways that the president is wrecking this country on a daily basis, or expressing an opinion about that, because of something a random nut does is espousing a profoundly un-American concept that I completely reject."
And for "journalists" like Dana Bash who tried to tie supposed heated rhetoric from Dems had something to do with last night's events I demand that they give concrete examples of any comments even remotely suggesting violence as a solution. Won't happen because there are none to be found. On the other hand, the results might be different when examining trump's comments.

(25,292 posts)It seems some are using this incident to shame legitimate, non-violent criticism of trump. Now why would that be?

She was implying rhetoric from the Democrats was somehow behind this
Raskin would have nothing of it and put that piece of shit in her place.
