Yesterday, a lone suspect charged past the security checkpoint outside of a presidential gala. Shots were fired, but no one died. Today's video examines how this will impact President Trump's popularity, putting the incident in the context of the necessary conditions to generate a rally round the flag effect.

(2,984 posts)A big part of MAGA world was already in the process of turning on him because of Epstein and Iran, and from what I can see, they have largely already decided this was a stunt.

He has played the martyr card often, and it always seems to come when he is in the deepest trouble.
Even if all these supposed "assassination attempts" happened exactly as Trump claims, he lies so much that people are looking upon him like the boy who cried "Wolf".
And Trump's biggest problem is that the biggest doubters are in MAGA world. We progressives like to think we still use critical thinking skills. We look for factual information and try not to jump to conclusions. But the MAGA people have very little in the critical thinking department. From what I can see, a big part of MAGA world is already convinced this was a faked stunt.
Wouldn't it be ironic if this was one of the rare times Trump is actually telling the truth, but none of the MAGA people believed him?

(26,347 posts)something will be coming. tRUMP's mode of operation is lying. Constantly lying and he's starting to conflict/mash/confuse his multiple lies together multiple times nowadays.

I know people don't want a martyr but just stop this already, every day is like a horror show and Trump is mad at reporter for just reading what shooter said. Because he knows every damn word is the truth! We all know it. It's like the whole country is an abused wife.
