2. Security worked

The 'shooter was intercepted. No one was seriously injured or killed. I think if anything the SS over-reacted and helped feed the panic.

3. I doubt very much that TSA was in charge of security; their agents would have been there only

to operate the magnetometers, which is what they are trained to do. Secret Service and local law enforcement would have been in charge of protecting the attendees - and Secret Service's job is to protect only certain people, which in this case would have been the president and the vice president and their spouses, not the whole crowd. In any event, the security did not fail, it worked. The perp only got as far as the first checkpoint on another floor, when he dashed by and was quickly stopped by law enforcement, not TSA, whose job it wasn't.

4. Regarding the idea of Trump's private army....I agree

He has cemented his popularity with TSA by "paying them" himself since Congress hasn't done their job to fund DHS. (Don't jump on me--I agree with the Democrats holding out for ICE reforms.)

But the fact remains that he has continually blamed the Democrats and the Senate, and he is the hero that put money back in their accounts. They will follow him off the cliff.
