F*CKING LYING P.O.S. Scalise gets fact checked when he blames Biden for "$6 a gallon gas," 2 years ago (it was $3.65)

SCALISE: We've delivered. Remember that 2 years ago, we were paying almost $6 a gallon. Right now it's in the $3s

KERNEN: When were we paying $6?

SCALISE: 2.5 years ago

K: That's not right

S: We are lowering inflation

K: We're actually above where we were then. 2 years ago the average was $3.65

In the current instance gas spiked because we attacked Iran. Maybe MAGA should try to convince the nation why it will be better off because of the attack.

There's limited value in "blame the last guy," and the fact that we're 16 months into Trump's presidency and he's still doing it is beyond pathetic.

Joe Kernan actually called out the lies from a Republican.
That's got to be a first on CNBC.

This year it's because we have a demented lunatic wannabe dictator and an ass kissing deranged holy warrior in charge of America's military and they're going on a crusade because another demented lunatic wannabe dictator is on a genocidal conquest.

No objective sources agreed with that, and Trump asserted less than a year ago he had completely "obliterated" Iran's nuclear capability.

Kernan did more than most, sad to say, but it was still weak sauce compared to what's needed. With thorough fact checking in real time, the media is platforming lies.

In Lehigh Valley, PA, paid $4.40 /gal yesterday.

Never even hit $4 / gal during Biden's term . At the end of W. Bush's 2nd term hit lower $4 /gal.

It has never been that high in this county. At least not adjusted for inflation. (During 43's presidency it hit $4, but that was over 20 years ago.)
But, as an absolute value it has never been as high.
At out local stations here, we're over $4.30. Same thing; highest number I've ever seen & we've lived in this town for 46 years.
The blatant, provably false things they say are galling.

But after Biden opened up the Strategic Oil Reserves and broke OPEC in early 2022, it plummeted down to $3.45 on average (in San Diego) within a couple months and wandered around as high as $4.00 at one point but starting around February 2024, prices started sneaking up to a COVID era level $4.70 on average by October / November of 2024. Lots of refineries apparently had problems...as typical during election season.

And the February drop in 2025 only took it down to the cost it was the year prior. Not to the pre-primary levels.

Gee, wonder what was going on in 2024?
