No sure how big of a cohort they represent and since they have been swinging harder to the left lately, they would probably be lumped in with the Democrats and divided up accordingly.

I was under the impression that the break-down of demographics of voters was 1/3 Democrat, 1/3 Republicans, and 1/3 Independents.

If a majority of Independents don't vote Republican that's more than 50 percent. And that's hoping they don't stay home on Election Days.
