this November, according to Aaron Rupar on bluesky. We have been warned. I may not know much, fellow DUers, but I know that this "army" will have nothing to do with election integrity.
Then again, it shows how skeered he is even after the SC and VA judges did their best to hand the midterms to him. He knows it's still not going to be enough.

The Gestapo (short for Geheime Staatspolizei or Secret State Police) was the official, brutal secret police force of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. Established by Hermann Göring, it was designed to identify and eliminate threats to the Nazi regime through surveillance, torture, and arbitrary detention, operating above the law and without judicial review.

(53,357 posts)I doubt Trump's fan base cares about his pedophilia. I have seen A LOT of huge pickups with two bumper stickers on them: one demanding pedophiles be killed next to a Trump campaign sticker. Like the Sesame Street song goes, one of these things is not like the other.
What they DO care about is paying $200 to gas up their F-350 pickups, and Trump is wholly responsible for that.
It's come to the point where Trump has decided the only way he can keep his congressional majority is to deploy goon squads, probably exclusively in precincts where it is felt that a lot of Trump opponents live.

(22,623 posts)They're going to do what? Monitor every voting precinct? Nope. There are over 175,000 voting precincts nationwide. And voting is a state matter constitutionally and jealously guarded. Good luck with interfering with that on the state level. It's just the usual bullshit he spouts when he knows he's in trouble and running out of options.
And state supremes didn't hand him the mid terms. Most red states are gerrymandered to the hilt anyway so there's really not much squeeze left. And what there is only dilutes red votes. In this environment where he and his party are grossly unpopular, that's dangerous for Republicans. Taking a few safe, greater than +10 red districts and doubling them to only +5 red runs a hell of a risk. Fear of that risk is what drove Indiana Republicans to balk at further gerrymandering. It becomes self defeating after a point. Many Republicans think that point might have been passed already.
