A new poll from Democratic-aligned firm Tavern Research shows independent Dan Osborn leading GOP Sen. Pete Ricketts by 5 percentage points in a general election matchup.

The poll, conducted May 8 to May 11, showed Osborn with 47% support and Ricketts, a former two-term governor, with 42%. It found 12% of voters were undecided.

The survey was commissioned by Contours Inc., a nonprofit that donated $150,000 last year to the Working Class Heroes Fund, the fundraising arm of a PAC founded by Osborn.

Tavern, founded in 2024, describes itself as a firm that “combines AI-powered ad production, polling and message testing in one integrated system.”
