What should Dems' top priorities be going forward in 2026-28?

What are your TOP FIVE?

Economy?
Inflation?
Civil Rights?
Immigration?
Gaza?
Israel?
Police?
Voting Rights?
LGBT rights?
Taxes?
Wages?
Public safety?
National Security?
Unemployment?
Health care?
Environment?
Something else? (please be specific)

I'd like to hear YOUR thoughts.

Mine are (in no particular order)
Health care
Civil rights
Inflation
Immigration
Environment

Now let's hear from YOU!

No damn it! You can Legislate and investigate to hold people accountable for their serious crimes.

Our failure to do this, is the reason we are not the dominant party.

Health care
Civil Rights
Voting Rights
Wages

Wages have simply not kept up with the cost of living. People cannot afford housing, they can't afford health care and I think they are sick and tired of the infrigement of their basic civil rights.

Everybody take a good look at your wish lists of priorities.

Now, take a breath, and face the reality that absolutely nothing on your lists is possible without first expanding the court and killing the filibuster to do so.

With the filibuster in place, any bill can be blocked in the senate.

With the current majority on the court, any law that passes can be overturned.

I thought that part was obvious.

Democrats only power between 2027-29 is obstructing Trump’s agenda.

Until 2029, nothing on anybody’s wish list, except impeachment hearings, will happen.

Judging by the list in the OP, It still seemed obvious to me that those priorities couldn’t be implemented until a Dem president was in office.

If that wasn’t implied, then the entire OP was unrealistic.

The only power Dems will have from now until January 20, 2029 will be to block Trump’s nominees and agenda, and to investigate his administration and impeach those deserving of impeachment.

That’s it.

They can certainly talk about other priorities, but they won’t be able to do anything about it.

- Accountability for the Trump administration’s massive corruption and treason and implementation of mechanisms to enforce legal actions on the executive and legislative branches
- Reversing the One Big Bullshit Bill
- Reversing the effective elimination of the Civil Rights Act and implementing enhanced voter protections (through legislative action?)
- Reversing Citizens United and implementing enforceable constraints on corporate and foreign financial contributions (through legislative action?)
- Providing affordable health care to everyone
