Abortion pills are safe, effective, and have been used by millions of people.
No court or politician can change either of those realities.

(5,580 posts)Trans men and nonbinary people also get abortions. Youre close to violating DUs anti-bigotry rules here.

(17,737 posts)Because there's always someone who has to fight over the miniscule details. Pick apart every letter and syllable. We can't ever just unite behind a sentiment.
Did you not KNOW what she meant? The English language is not always perfect.
I apologize, but I am very protective of Hillary. I truly believe she is the smartest person on the planet.

(2,998 posts)When you see Rep. Gills shit-eating grin, youll know exactly who he is.
Since Rep. Gill is so interested in our favorite types of abortions, I thought Id share a few of mine.
My favorite type of abortion is the one that prevents a raped ten-year-old from breaking her pelvis in childbirth.
I also like abortions that keep women from carrying dead fetuses for weeks on end, which is what happened to Marlena Stell in Rep. Gills home state of Texas.
My favorite abortions are the kind that stop women from going septic, or prevent 28-year-olds from losing both of their fallopian tubes.
Another favorite? The abortion that means a Texas 21-year-old wont be forced to carry a fetus developing without a head.
I like the abortion that means a pregnant mother of five with cervical cancer doesnt have to beg a hospital panel for chemotherapy.
I like the abortion that doesnt force a woman to travel far from home when faced with a fatal fetal abnormality.
I really like the abortion that stops patients from having to plead for help in videos made in hospital parking lots.

(6,436 posts)No one likes abortion. It means something went wrong. Regardless of the reason, many people need to have an abortion, which is why it needs to be legal and accessible.

(5,477 posts)I honestly believe there were a lot more abortions back then than there have been since abortion was made legal. The main problem besides not being safe is illegal abortions cost cash, a commodity poorer people don't have. That forces women without money to use self-inflicted methods. The jackasses in the GOP are too dumb to realize what a can of worms they just opened but they don't give a crap. Lording over women makes them feel manly.

(42,359 posts)There were no pills then, they had to undergo surgery with unsafe conditions. It was a terrible time before the Roe v. Wade ruling, and many girls/women died as a result.

(64,544 posts)over the last ten years. I'm guessing that women can't get access to birth control because of closed clinics. I haven't checked to see if rape statistics are up. And I suspect the unsteady economy has people wondering if they shod delay having kids or simply avoid it.
