It's only when minority citizens present to vote in person that the state's racism becomes a factor. When votes are sent by mail, they must all be counted blindly with no advantage given to the race or color of the voters.

My husband worked with him for decades at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper. He's one helluva nice guy too!
