A 3-time Trump voter w/ buyer's remorse is a perfect example of people believing sh*t simply because they choose to.

What's noteworthy here isn't the fact that it's another boo hoo hoo woe is me Trump lied to me MAGAt.

I posted this to shine a light on a very common human trait. It's how we get into conflict over religious views, etc...sometimes people CHOOSE to believe something, with no evidence to back it up. And this caller had "reservations" that they ignored, based on the actual events of Trump's life, and they CHOSE TO IGNORE those details because their NEED and DESIRE to BELIEVE won out in the end.

During a Saturday call to C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, a man from Hawaii, identified only as Thomas, revealed he had backed Donald Trump in all three of his presidential campaigns before reaching his breaking point over the past year.

“It’s hard for me to say this,” Thomas began. “
I wanted to believe Trump was the real deal for a long time.

The caller said he had lingering doubts because of Trump’s business history, but chose to support him anyway.

“Now I regret my support for him and I should’ve known better,” he said.

but virtually none of them will say "and these are the steps I will take, this is the work that I will do to fix whatever in myself to prevent this being repeated."

Even knowing there are all the ones who won't ever admit the mistake, admitting the mistake is the easy part. Recognizing how/why the mistake was made and changing oneself to avoid repetition is the hard part.

...they will unequivocally vote D in the future.
They aren't laying any blame on the Republicans for enabling this soulless buffoon.

An anonymous caller, identified only as Thomas, calls CSPAN with regrets he voted for fRump.

Of course he could have been anybody, but oh well, this 'perfect example' is GROUND BREAKING NEWS!

Their profound "wake up call" is short lived BS!!! Their personality is one of a proud and ignorant cultist. They do not "think" or choose to become educated about any issues that goes against their grain. They choose to remain ignorant, hateful and blind sheep. Always have and always will. This is the average American voter. They vote against their own best interests and that will never change. Fuck them! Too bad we all have to pay for their constant desire to keep their heads up their asses.

Some poor Trump voter that lost their job, their house, their health, their spouse or their child due to policies implemented by Trump, the Republican Congress and affirmed by the Republican Supreme Court would never for one second hesitate to vote for them again in the next election.

They may sit an election out, but they will never EVER vote for a Democrat UNLESS they get to meet their Democratic candidate in person and are won over that way (Rob Sand in Iowa, e.g.). It’s expensive and time-consuming, but in a land where Fox “News” is so widely used as the sole source of news, these people will vote for cyanide additives in their baby formula before they’d ever vote a Democrat. GOTV and strong (including armed) protection of our voting rights are our only paths to victory.

That is the entire core of MAGA epistemology, how they know what is true and even what is real. If they want to believe it, it's true. If they don't want to believe it, it's fake news.

That's why it's so frustrating to try to talk to them about anything. Everything that a normal person considers "evidence" is completely irrelevant nonsense to them. They don't even hear it. The only "evidence" they recognize as real is their own desire to believe.
