Q: The DOJ has a new fund that was announced today -- $1.7b. Why should taxpayers pay for the J6ers?

TRUMP: Well, it's been very well received, I have to tell you. I know very little about it. I wasn't involved in the whole creation of it. This is reimbursing people that were horribly treated

A bully beat you up and may have killed you without intervention.

The bully went to court and was found guilty. You didn't sue for damages.

The bully's father now is suing you, the Victim, for putting him in a position where he had to face an accounting for beating you up.

One of the more irreconcilable aspects of the 2024 campaign.

I consider myself to be "reasonably" smart. Maybe not MENSA, but I'd have to take their test to be sure. But when Trump bellowed all through the campaign that he was going to seek revenge, I knew who he was talking about.

Us.

All of us.

Trump's "big lie"...the "rigged" election that was not "rigged"...is actually a way for him to pretend, to "save face."

I've seen countless stories about his "admitting in private that he lost." He KNOWS he did, but can never admit it.

So, you read what he has to say...or, what his ghost writer had to say...about "revenge," and it all fits.

He can't seek "revenge" against an invisible enemy and "feel good" about vindicating himself.

So who IS the enemy? WE are. WE voted for Biden. WE denied him a second term. WE made him delay, delay, delay for four years with his lawsuits, instead of just hiding behind the presidential seal.

WE "did this to him."

WE are now paying via his tariffs and cuts to medical and social services.

It's not tinfoil hat stuff. It's a matter of "doing the math" on Trump, and coming to an inescapable conclusion.

I really, really hope that if we end up with a Democratic president and a majority in both chambers, the parties involved develop a true appetite for dealing with the SCOTUS, starting with term limits, and then doing whatever the hell they have to do in order to start providing oversight and accountability.

More than $30 million needed for Capitol repairs and new security after assault, officials say

Cleaning up broken glass, doors and graffiti and securing the U.S. Capitol after the January 6 attack will cost more than $30 million, Capitol staff told lawmakers Wednesday.

"Statues, murals, historic benches and original shutters all suffered varying degrees of damage, primarily from pepper spray accretions and residue from chemical irritants and fire extinguishers," Architect of the Capitol J. Brett Blanton said at a House Appropriations Committee Hearing, according to his prepared testimony. "This damage to our precious artwork and statues will require expert cleaning and conservation."

House Lawmakers have already approved $30 million to address the expenses described by Blanton, whose office is responsible for the operations and care of the group of buildings that make up the Capitol complex, as well as to fund the perimeter fencing that has been constructed around the Capitol.

snip

Eight different marble and granite busts of former House speakers and notable figures, as well as portraits of James Madison and John Quincy Adams and a statue of Thomas Jefferson, were among the items identified as having potential damage. That damage includes yellow residue from fire extinguisher discharge that can damage the marble. House Curator Farar Elliott asked lawmakers for an additional $25,000 to support emergency repair and conservation of damaged items.

Then Trump would have been prosecuted and still imprisoned.

Trump would have been one of many still imprisoned and subject to massive civil penalties and other limitations on future behavior (like lose voting rights, Vet benefits, banned from political and financial careers, and other privileges of citizenship).

Trump would be suffering the harshest punishment. Besides those that assaulted the Capital Jan 6, other co-conspirers, financial backers and Trumps involved family would suffer punishment serious enough to serve as a message for the future.

The Democrats should have not played nice.

Our failure to prosecute Jan 6 is why we are a failed nation and falling empire in terms of alleged American ideals.
