Trump Wants Senate Parliamentarian Ousted After She Nixed Request For Ballroom Project Funds

The president reportedly called Thune on Monday to complain about the ruling, Semafor first reported.
Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth Macdonough ruled Saturday that the request to include funding for the ballroom project didn't pass the "Byrd Rule," a Senate guideline that prevents non-budget items from passing with a simple majority.
The position of Senate parliamentarian is non-partisan. Macdonough has held the office since 2012.
