Thomas Massie is a red wheelbarrow

William Carlos Williams' famous poem begins with the line, "So much depends on a red wheelbarrow, glazed with rain water...." It's a beautiful paean to the importance of small, ordinary things. So much does depend on whether Massie wins his GOP primary fight today because should he prevail, a spell will be broken and there may be, just maybe, a chance Republicans in Congress may get some backbone, possibly forestalling the rising chaos, bullying, voter intimidation, grifting, etc. as we approach the midterms. I hope he wins today and as a result the White House is forced to stock up on so much Depends.

but unfortunately, if Massie wins it will be a blip on the corporate media. Whereas when Cassidy lost just a couple pf days ago, this same media treated it as proof of trump's awesome power. That's how they roll.

It always gets down to the economy & it's tanking. Only the die-hard cult believe this is Biden's economy or that Trump has any kind of plan to reverse course. Repubs will pull out all the stops this midterm, & we'll find out what the No King's movement is made of.

He’s still a hardcore libertarian, with all that entails.

My late father was that way but was liberal on social issues. And he hated trump with a passion

... it was an online "interview" where the reporter (with a cracking voice) was basically chasing him, but he stated that "I vote with Republicans 91% of the time. And the 9% I don't, they're taking up for pedophiles, starting another war, or bankrupting our country"

I mean, that's not great in many ways. but say what you will, it's an ethos

Everyone talks about KY4 district as if there are no Democrats prepping to face either Massie or Gallrein.

Which one of these GOPers would be easier for the D nominee to beat?

Gellrein and Massie are running neck-and-neck. Melissa Claire Strange and Jesse Russell Brewer are competing in the Democratic primary. My hope is there will be a psychological effect if the Trump candidate is defeated in the primary. We still have a long way to go before the midterms and I'd like to see some weakening of Trump's support in Congress because we don't know how extreme his behavior will get by then.

I hope the man wins as well because he's at least shown backbone and grit on the Epstein debacle.

It's up to the voters in Kentucky now. The normies and Trump-disgusted will need to come out en masse because the crazies tend to dominate primary season.

We shall see.
