NAACP calls for a boycott of NCAA sports in southern states over their redistricting

Launched Tuesday, the "Out of Bounds" campaign urges prospective Black athletes, their families, alumni and fans to "withhold athletic and financial support" from major public universities in states that "have moved to limit, weaken or erase Black voting representation."

this is the way. imagine if the SEC schools like Texas ,Oklahoma,Alabama etc were no longer competitive in sports... It should go further and pro athletes should do the same.

Now if any state redistricts to eliminate African American representation boycott:

All Pro Sports
Spring Breaks
Amusement Attractions
Concerts
Museums
Companies based in such states

Hurt them hard economically!

There are few groups in American history that know better the sacrifice of struggle in the short term in the hopes of a better future that they themselves may never even get to experience.

It's unfortunate that the reckless, shortsighted decisions of a few wiped away decades of hard fought progress won by the generations that came before.

I know that the athletes and their families and supporters are the logical place to START, but this situation is not going to change one bit until the financial pain gets to be too much for the donors to abide.

Power cedes NOTHING, it only adds to its reach unless its greedy hands are struck down by the righteous and the just. Boycotts of the SEC are a start for sure, and I cannot understand for a second the mindset of attending a southern football factory, even if they are getting an NIL deal and some payment.

IN a lot of ways, accepting the Name, Image and Likeness money and turning a blind eye to the institutions of the south and their march back to segregation and Jim Crow America as they "take their country back" (just like they SAID) makes you a special kind of enabler to power. There are VERY derogatory names for that kind of behavior...
