Tesla Insiders Admit Self-Driving Is a Complete Disaster

https://futurism.com/advanced-transport/tesla-insiders-self-driving-disaster

New reporting by Reuters interviewed nine former data labelers and a former self-driving engineer about their take on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving mode. The results were overwhelmingly negative, with seven of the data specialists admitting they wouldn’t ride in a Tesla in FSD.

“We have all seen it fail,” one Tesla insider told Reuters. “Definitely don’t trust Elon on this,” the self-driving engineer concurred, referencing Musks’ declaration that the the vehicles are ready for “safe unsupervised” rides.

-snip-

At least five data labelers, whose job was to comb through hours of FSD footage to train the vehicle’s software to avoid past mistakes, told Reuters they routinely saw clips of Teslas driving above the speed limit, an issue which engineers and managers treated like a low-priority compared to edge-case issues.

-snip-

In recent months, Tesla operating on FSD move have driven riders into lakes, off bridges, and even into the path of oncoming trains — and those are just the incidents that get media exposure. Given these insiders’ direct access to terabytes’ worth of proprietary FSD footage, we’re inclined to take their word on it.

MAGAs live and breathe lies.

As they have amply demonstrated.

When someone shows you that they are a liar,
then that is when you can safely believe them.

Then benefitting from government tax credits for Tesla, way too many financial wizards believing in the great man of history theory thinking he was the magic, then rich government contracts for SpaceX, a financial system that rewards wealth, and then buying his way into Trump's good graces so he could dismantle the regulatory bodies investigating him.

Oh and regardless of what the lying racist twerp says, he didn't invent Tesla, he bought it and forced the original founders out.

There is no denying his many successes. But conversely, or perversely, he is a world class and very dangerous bullshit artist worthy of an episode of American Greed.

We have driverless Waymos all over the city providing ridesharing, but they're Jaguars, not Teslas. Everyone hates them. In fact, the three cars burned during the protests last summer were Waymos. Hell, I'd light one on fire if I could.

I never thought I would ride in an autonomous car in my life-time but I did.

It was a great experience. The trip was smooth and pleasant. I was hesitant at first but it really was nice.

Plus, you don't have to tip the driver!!

Almost everything about Tesla automotive, from it's dipshit leader to whatever bullshit he's selling to idiots today (hey, fuckface, where's that new roadster again? another two weeks? got it. moron) to the stock price, is nothing but a joke.

Around here, it's not just kids and dogs, it's teenagers, old folks who can barely see over the dashboard, drunks, road rages and arroyos with just enough fast moving water to wash a car away.
