are a reminder to us of some of the way we arrived at this huge divisiveness in the country. There are two very recent examples.
The first example is the withdrawal of the charges against the Broadview 6 protesters. As we know the judge ripped a new one into the prosecution for egregious misconduct with the grand jurors, redacting the transcripts, refusing to hand over the unredacted transcripts etc. The judge stated it was the worst conduct they'd seen. Basically "cooking" the grand jury to get an indictment and then telling lies to the court and doing the equivalent of submitting false testimony/evidence. That's the story we know because of our news sources we read and listen to.
But over on the local Chicago Fox TV web site for that day the same story of the charges being dropped ran but there was absolutely zero mention of any of the bad conduct and the judges reaction. So if you only got your news from Fox that day you never knew that main part of the story.
The second example is the recent US Supreme Court decision where the court ruled that a freight broker could be sued in state court for hiring a carrier with a questionable safety record when a crash resulted. Normally federal law precludes state actions regarding certain industries but not when it comes to safety according to the USSC. If you read the AP story reprinted in the industry publication "Transport Topics" you would get the impression that calamity and doom has befallen an innocent freight broker and they are in an unfair situation. But down the road a bit, no pun intended, along comes an article about this broker in the industry publication "Overdrive" dated 5/7/26 and updated on 5/16/26 that tells us more of this freight broker, who makes claims about safety, using a "chameleon carrier" network with questionable responsibility. Lather, rinse, repeat. Of course everyone goes "Who me?".
What doesn't get told is that the big players in the freight industry have been some of the same ones pushing the myth of "driver shortage" in order to get government to allow very lax vetting and safety enforcement regarding visas for foreign drivers. The industry then uses these drivers as labor at substandard pay while they pocket the shipping cost difference for themselves. It's an old scam and has been going on for a very long time across many industries.
The whole point of this kind of story manipulation regarding what is told or not told is to once again highlight where our media is heading and we can see that CBS, CNN etc. are going down the road where one will more and more not get "the rest of the story".
Remember that it is a huge portion of the adult population today that consumes only Fox etc. How much of the adult population today even knows about the treachery and crimes of Nixon other than Watergate? The effort to rehabilitate Nixon and others has been going on for a long time now and when the media only tells the "desired/approved" parts of stories and events the public goes away with a false belief that they have the important parts when the truth is far from what they've been told.
