1. They certainly have a contract and can't be fired just because the network wants someone else.

Pelley and Vega would be much better, of course, but they deserve a prime time show, not some morning gig hardly anybody watches.

That is a very unpopular timeslot and not their kind of reporting. Perhaps a special Sunday show that focuses on certain issues of the day.
