(61,218 posts)or that other parts of the world have succeeded in increasing their output. The former lowers demand, the latter increases supply. If part of it reflects expectation that crude price will come down, that will quickly change
The interesting geopolitical question would be if this will lead the US to withhold weapons from Israel or even back UN sanctions if they are proposed by another country - something we have never done.

Israel wants war, they think their position is strengthened by more attacks on Lebanon. And they want the US to continue bombing Iran. This is going to drive a wedge between the US and Israel now and it could be very contentious.
