I'm making an Italian themed meal

for the 4th of July, in honor of my ancestors on my Mom's side, and one of my great grandfather's on my Dad's side. They were all hardworking farmers. It's a tribute to them, and all the immigrants who were there for this nation, even though not everyone was grateful for that, or even treated them with basic human kindness.

I celebrate my Irish heritage on Saint Patrick's Day, so I thought it only fair to give tribute to the Italian side. I chose the 4th because there is no way I am celebrating tsfs desecration of everything the founders tried to achieve, and because a number of my late uncles served their country in WWII.
