Two tankers hit in latest attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, British military says (Associated Press)DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) Two tankers were struck by projectiles Tuesday in the Strait of Hormuz, the British military said, in the latest attacks targeting vessels moving through the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf.
One of the tankers was traveling off the coast of Oman and caught fire, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center. Iranian state television said the liquefied natural gas tanker came under attack after ignoring warnings but did not directly claim the assault.
It was not immediately clear where the second tanker was when it was hit. The vessel was believed to have sustained structural damage, but no one was injured, the maritime agency said.
Tehran, which has repeatedly declared that only its approved route through the strait is safe, is suspected of attacking other ships that have used another route close to the Omani shore.

Out of reach of additional charges from Iran. Iran is then shooting missiles at vessels then trying to say its unsafe unless you transit along their coastline. A Saudi vessel was hit as well.
At what point do the regional countries get fed up with this and go gloves off against Iran?

(13,155 posts)5. Trump has created a mess that must be repaired.
The Trump attack on Iran was a disaster but given that the situation is broken, the U.S. is going to have to stop Iran from attacking shipping in the Straits. The international economy can't abide the current situation.
It's going to be expensive in US blood and treasure but it must be done. The Pottery Barn Rule applies. Trump broke it and the US has bought it.
