1. Give it the sniff test

Yes, I want to believe women but the Republicans are desperate and we know they have never shrunk from paying women to lie about Democrats, while there doesn't seem to be any viciousness toward women that they themselves might find a little troubling among their own ranks.

Just waiit a couple of weeks on this one, Either the accuser will be outed as a GOP paid liar (remember Tara Reade?) or she will be vindicated

I find Platner to be a flawed candidate, but there's a huge gap between tacky social media posts (that should be telling him to lay off the sauce, maybe) and outright assault. One is legal, one is not.

And please don't forget that he admits he mistreated his partners, he sexted a bunch of women after being married, blamed the woman who confirmed the story instead of taking responsibility, he's been accused of being physically abusive (I assume you will discount that because she was Republican). He has a very long history of not respecting women.

I don't know what's going on and neither does anyone else. I'm just pointing out the GOP's sordid history of taking shots at Democratic candidates via female sexual misconduct accusers who later turn out to have been far from truthful. I'm cautioning people not to jump to conclusions, not to take this at face value, but to take a step back and wait a while to see what shakes out. It could go either way.

even if she is seen as 200 percent credible.

Of course I wish she would have opened up for the NYT article. That and the sexting with other women early on his marriage might have made a difference.

I repeat:

NO ONE.

Any victim of SA (or really any crime) should be taken seriously, and their claims investigated. Follow the evidence wherever it leads.

2. Credible?

I'm not seeing the credibility -- not yet. An anonymous accusation is hardly credible evidence. In today's world millions of people are more than willing to bare false witness. These allegations may well develop into more -- but to be credible these allegations need to be supported not just endlessly repeated.

We literally know her name is Jenny Racicot and have screenshots of her warning others in 2023.

Quit with the baseless conspiracy theories.

She wasn't identified in any of the mainstream stories I read. I haven't seen any reprints of the screenshots. Little context or material background detail has been made public. Her allegations may evolve into something credible but we're not there yet.

and have been in that frame of mind since the beginning.

And then predictably, Planter won the primary. So that's it, and I hoped for the best. We all want Colins gone.

But it turns out there was more from 2023. Planter lied to Sen Warren & Sen Sanders when they asked him if there was anything else after the NYT article came out.

I had to turn it off, though, when they started showing that GD idiot PEDO.
