Personally I would rather people not color their hair or use so many cosmetics, but I realize I am in the minority there. But, seriously not one word about how her husband should stop being a slacking wanker and take care of the house more and watch over the kids more? What a creep. Does she have kids? Did she work? I really don't know much about this "lady". She sounds like something out of Pat Robertson's wet dreams.

Every extended Irish family had one of them, the woman who would creep down, collecting all the pants from all the men, build up the fire, and warm their britches so their dear little arses wouldn't get cold, using up the fuel that had been saved for cooking breakfast.

Her early radio mentor and married lover took the photos and later (1998) sold the photos to a porn site. She filed suit against him and lost the case. She also met her current husband (second) when he was married and lived with him for nine years before they married when she became pregnant. She is one flaming hypocrite who delights in judging anyone, according to her imaginary moral compass, who crosses her path.

13. More -she berates people who divorce; but she was divorced: "it was a mistake, I corrected it".

She berates people who don't speak to their family members, but she was estranged from her mother for 14 years, and her mother died alone and wasn't found for days. She is also estranged from her sister - so much so that most people thought she was an only child. She told them she was an only child. Her sister is a real family counselor, imagine that.

She berates people who decide to use fertility treatments to have children, instead of adopting in those circumstances. But Dr. Laura saw nothing hypocritical in getting her tubal ligation reversed and spent a lot of money and time using fertility treatments when she wanted one of her own. Like she'd stoop to having a used child.

Pretty much, if Dr. Laura tells someone not to do something, you can be certain that she is doing it herself or has done it. She figured out a cash cow, which made her 71.5 million dollars when she sold her program, and she has kept on full steam ahead ever since. She doesn't believe a word she says.

A couple of article links - one is about Dr. Laura being out for revenge after she ran from radio after using the N-word 11 times in trying to make a point that made no sense, but let her get her aggression out. The other is site that has the original Vanity Fair article from some years ago, that has her still pissed off (she says the reporter lied about her simply because Dr. Laura is thin and attractive, while the reporter was fat, "obese". No kidding). A wierd site, but the only place I could quickly find that had the article.

Dr. Laura has anger and unhappiness eating her alive, every day. Can you imagine being at the end of your life, looking back at days spent enraged at everyone and everything at every moment? I wonder if she will know then that she squandered her life here.

14. I have a very personal animosity toward this woman.

I have a friend who, during a very difficult and heartbreaking time in her life and in need of nothing more than a kind word, called the Dr. Laura program for advice. That beast spent 15 minutes degrading and humiliating my friend at time in her life when her self esteem was at its lowest. I was so angry and hurt for my friend that I called in to the program the next day to express my opinion of her "skill" and "compassion" as a counselor. Of course, she refused to speak to me. I wrote and mailed a long letter to the program. I don't imagine she ever actually received the letter and I never received a reply.

I am convinced that this woman derives great satisfaction by using her perceived power in judging and demeaning others to convince herself of her own superiority. In my opinion, she is very twisted.

15. It is probably a small consolation, but I doubt that the beast has ever known the kind of fierce

loyalty that you showed on behalf of your friend. She just wouldn't attract that kind of person, nor would she be capable of returning the favor. What struck me as I read a few articles about her was the unanimous opinion from anyone and everyone who knew her/worked with her/screwed her that she was a monster, and they didn't mind having their names attached. She's left a trail of broken minds and spirits wherever she has been over her lifetime - what a nasty achievement.

I can't believe that instead of being railroaded out of polite society, this monster is embraced and worshiped by "followers". I listened a few times while on the road, and was horrified at her deliberate cruelty - you are correct, I also believe that she very much enjoys drilling into people's pain, at the very moment when they can't take it anymore and decide to reach out for help. There are almost no words for such a vile thing, yet she has made millions on the practice.

I hope you friend was able to put Dr. Laura's tirade behind her and find the peace of mind she sought by calling in. I don't believe Dr. Laura reads any of her mail; probably has assistants troll for good material for the show, ignoring anything else that won't give her a platform to bark like a seal for cash.
