"And We Know How To Fix It".........

President Obama said this a couple of times in his SOTU Address. "And we know how to fix it". That's the sad thing about this mess that BushCo put us in - we do know how to fix it - but the Repugs are so intent to keep it broke and make Obama a one-term president that they won't let us "fix it".

Other phrases that stood out to me in this speech were:

1. A Return To American Values
2. An America Built to Last
3. America Is Back

How could the Repugs just sit there and ignore these? It's downright "un-American" for them to turn their backs on America.

This speech was filled with common sense ideas and actions put forth by this President. We do know how to fix things. It isn't rocket science.

How anyone can sit there and listen to this speech and think bad of this President and not want this man to represent them over the next 4 years - I just don't understand.

I hear the Repug clown car candidates constantly knock down this President and say things like we need to focus on jobs, etc. But I never hear any of them offer any real ideas as to how to do that.

In this SOTU speech - I heard real and actionable ideas being put forth by this President. Things that can be done to "fix America".

How can Repugs in Congress just sit there and neglect doing anything to help "fix this country"? Why do the Repugs want to destroy this country? Why do the 99%er Repugs, some Indies and Dems want to vote against their best interests?

I just don't get it???????????????????

2. No - I'm Not Just Now Figuring That Out.......

Ever since Sen. Mitch announced that the Repugs were intent on making Obama a 1-term President I knew what their strategy was. We've seen it played out every day of Obama's term. Whatever side he takes - they take the other side - even if he ultimately comes over to their side - they take the other side - just so he can't succeed. It's obvious to me. So are the fixes that can be done to make this country whole again. What frustrates me is that there is a big element in our society that don't see that.

What I'm questioning is 'how they can be so blind'? How can they not see that Obama is being sandbagged every step of the way in the last 3 years? How can they continue to vote against their best interests? Why is this country so divided? Is everything really 50 - 50% now? I just can't believe that this 2012 general election will be close? How can we not give this man a 2nd term and the ability to right this ship?

Right now the analogy I can give is that this ship we call America is listing just like this Costa ship off the coast of Italy. Many people are under water and some have died. BushCo took the ship right into the rocks so it would crash. Like the captain of this Costa ship - the Repugs have abandoned it. What we are doing now is sending some divers in to recover the bodies and hope that some may still be alive. We are being cautious because the ship is shifting off the rocks and may go totally out to sea and sink. We need to avoid such a disaster - so we are sucking the oil out of the ship and ultimately we are discussing that we'll probably have to take it apart and salvage the parts we could. We could devise a way and we have the ability to recover the ship and fix it and make it whole allowing it to sail again. We are at that point. What are we going to do?

3. To do list: work for candidates who will work for the 99%, not for the 1% exclusively...

and certainly, not for themselves first.
