This is so hilariously funny coming from Fox....

On MTV and other networks, young people can see lives just like theirs portrayed on reality TV shows fueled by such incredible self-involvement and self-love that any of the “real-life” characters should really be in psychotherapy to have any chance at anything like a normal life.

That’s really the unavoidable end, by the way. False pride can never be sustained. The bubble of narcissism is always at risk of bursting. That’s why young people are higher on drugs than ever, drunker than ever, smoking more, tattooed more, pierced more and having more and more and more sex, earlier and earlier and earlier, raising babies before they can do it well, because it makes them feel special, for a while. They’re doing anything to distract themselves from the fact that they feel empty inside and unworthy.

Distractions, however, are temporary, and the truth is eternal. Watch for an epidemic of depression and suicidality, not to mention homicidality, as the real self-loathing and hatred of others that lies beneath all this narcissism rises to the surface.

But when adults point the finger at the younger generation I have to ask, were young people creating their own television programming?

Are young people responsible for the world that adults have created, that they were brought into?

Who are the deluded narcissists now?

If I were a young person today, I'd be disgusted with my greedy boomer generation. I'd be trusting my own instincts over a society and a Congress that allows people to go homeless when there are like 4-5 empty homes for every homeless person.

I'd be disgusted with FOX spreading lies with impunity, and then having the audacity to call it "news."

I'd be disgusted with legislatures that don't demand Big Pharma pay for treatment programs for those addicted to their pills. I'd be disgusted with legislators who decide instead to make felons out of addicts with a few pills on their persons. I'd be disgusted with legislators who make $$$$$$$ every time a poor soul enters their for-profit prisons.

I'd be disgusted with all the people in prison for enjoying cannabis.

I'd be sick to death of low wages, no access to health care and no way to pay off student loans, much less find decent jobs.

I'd be disgusted with CEOs making millions while hard-working Americans live in poverty.

I'd be disgusted with a Congress that introduces 1000 bills trying to legislate vaginas, but that cannot create even one jobs bill.

If our kids are narcissists, we fucking made them so, by our awful examples.

I hope someday the next generations will kick FOX to the curb, kick our politicians in the teeth and out on their sorry, lazy, greedy asses, and make this "richest nation on the earth" act like it has some damned common sense.
