Democratic platform on assisted suicide?

I know I could probably google it... but figured I'd get a better answer here quicker. I haven't read/heard much, if any, on this topic in the recent past - let alone on this website.

What's the party-line on assisted suicide? The topic of A/S came up today in a casual convo at work (no, nobody I know is considering it) and I thought to myself that I could see arguments for both allowing it and/or pushing to end it. ??

like, when the time comes that you are going to kill yourself?!? I really hope you wouldn't consider that.
Or do you just mean when its time to go?

My understanding is that most people prefer to die at home surrounded by family rather than an ICU hooked up to ten different lines. And families that have had this discussion are better able to go through the grieving process. There was recently a show on Frontline that addressed this particular topic.
