(345 posts)Odds of Rand Paul ever being president ranks several orders of magnitude below the sun not coming up tomorrow. Odds of Mrs. Clinton serving in any capacity under Paul are laughable and would make my head explode. All republicans are under marching orders to minimalize Mrs. Clinton in any way they think they can for the next 4 years because if she runs for pres., no republican has a chance against her - and they know it.
McCain has been irrelevant for many years and Paul started out as irrevelant. If you want proof, consider he was elected from the state that elected that other homophobe, McConnell. Never forget McConnell forever defined the republican party as thinking being in charge was their divine right when he said their only job for the next 4 years after Pres. Obama took office was to keep him from being re-elected. Not to govern, not to legislate, not to serve the voters who democratically did their duty, but to sabotage the will of the people.

This man from Portland, Ore, Bruce Lindner, speaks so Well for all of us who were sickened by Rand Paul's heinous display of idiocy.
From reading other Rand Paul statements I already knew that he is a "deranged Lunatic".. so RP did the world a favor today by getting the word out on himself.

(666 posts)I know the people of Kentucky are very smart but I am also sure that they had a lapse in judgement when they elected this goof Rand Paul. Just as the people of Wisconsin made a mistake two years ago when they replaced Russ Feingold with this Johnson nut, hopefully next time around the good people of Kentucky will replace him with Ms. Judd that the people of Wisconsin will replace Johnson with anybody else.

(262 posts)The letter tells it all!! Rand Paul is a troll for the Tea baggers and I'm glad to see the blogger call him out. We need more of this and then some..Keep it up... I suggest we give Harry Reid some shit if he backs down on the Filibuster reform. In fact, give shit to any Dem who backs down from the Mrekley-Udall amendment to fix the Filbuster once and for all....

(18,124 posts)yet the fact of the matter is, drumroll please, he was elected to his post by a majority. So it's not really his fault, that he, a nutcase, is sitting in the Senate. Let's talk of the type and kind of amerikkkans that put him there.

(8,377 posts)How a person can equate 4 deaths at a diplomatic outpost where the risk was well known and accepted with 4000 deaths to completely innocent people is beyond me. Never mind the fact that there have been so many other tragedies since 911.
Clinton actually went easy on the Senators yesterday. The Republicans are trying to make an issue out of who read the CIA talking points immediately after the attack. And as Hillary said, what difference does any of that make. This just takes the spotlight off the CONGRESS, which bears a major responsibility here for refusing to fund these operations at a level that would allow for their safety. Hillary mentioned that, and probably wisely chose not to hammer that. But that is the point that should become the focus of any further conversation.
As is, "The CIA talking points? You want to go there? Why do you keep changing the subject from the core issue, which is that the CONGRESS, systematically over 4 years, CUT the State Department's security budget?"

(599 posts)Dear Senator Rand Paul;
After watching your disgraceful dog & pony show where you grilled Secretary of State Clinton this morning, I've been forced to reassess my opinion of you. Before today, I thought you were a shameful opportunist who cozied up to the Tea Party for political advantage, but I now see that I was wrong. You're nothing of the kind.
You're a deranged lunatic who has the audacity to envision yourself as Secretary Clinton's superior, so that you could fantasize terminating her from office for not sharing your asinine, juvenile view of the world.
As tragic as the Benghazi attack was, you characterized it as "the worst tragedy since 9/11." Really! A greater tragedy than the attacks in London? In Madrid? The 4,500 American soldiers who died in Iraq? A bigger tragedy than 20 slaughtered first graders, all because YOU and your ilk think the founding fathers were talking about weapons that wouldn't be invented for another 200 years when they wrote the 2nd Amendment?
"Had I been president at the time ... I'd have relieved you of your post..." You sir, are nuts. You are not now, nor will ever be the President of these United States. It's only a fluke that you're even a sitting U.S. Senator. But that, sir, is temporary. Enjoy your moment in the spotlight while it lasts.
