(8,462 posts)I never get to see that much detail in the sky, Chicago's light hides it.

(228 posts)We walked our Beagle for almost 2 hours today in the Dungeness Valley and along the strait with Mt. Baker in all it's glory. No place on earth we'd rather be.

(28,158 posts)I haven't been anyplace to really see the stars in so long I'd forgotten how many there actually were. The air was so clean there was never once too much pollution to make out the beautiful details of the mountains. Such a beautiful place.

(27,670 posts)Makes me a bit homesick ~ but I sure don't miss the cold and snow. I love the Cascades. Grew up on the eastern side of the Cascades, in the smaller mountains/high desert across the river. When I was young I looked out at the N. Cascades through our kitchen window and from our yard almost every day.

Outside of the aircraft, I saw a couple of what looked like "falling stars" in there.
