"Reverend" Bradlee Dean's organization "You Can Run, But You Can't Hide" had a table set up outside my local WalMart today, handing out info, asking for donations, and selling CD's. Their focus is teenagers.
I went to the Customer Service counter and asked to see the manager or the appropriate person regarding the group set up at the entrance. I told that person I was concerned about the group ""You Can Run But You Can't Hide" that was set up at the door. She said they were not supposed to be there. I told her I was glad to hear that, and asked if she knew anything about Bradlee Dean and his organization - she did not. I told her if I had teens who had been preached to by this group, came home with information, or gave them money, I would be very upset. There are likely other customers who are offended and not saying anything. She thanked me for lettingher know.
When I was driving out of the lot the woman at the table was packing up and shutting down.
If you see the group "You Can Run, But You Can't Hide" set up outside any business, complain! Chances are they are there without permission. If they have permission, it may not last long once it's known customers object.

(4,253 posts)The ministry has received testimonials from school officials and students "that praise the positive impact the assemblies had by stressing the importance of good choices and using a band to grab attention",[4] but has also drawn controversy for using assemblies for religious purposes, misleading school administrators about the nature of the program, and proselytizing its views on abortion and homosexuality.[5][6][7] The Southern Poverty Law Center designated the organization as an anti-gay hate group in March 2012.[8][9][10][11]

Quite a piece of work, Reverend Dean. Love the hair and the helmet (or is that a hat?) but otherwise, he needs to take a chill pill and STHU.

I don't know how to embed a pic on DU but, here's a link to one of him taken when he appeared in the Minn House Chamber.

Few years gone by. And as they say, the brain always goes first...
Sad to think how many kids are being suckered in by this. Don't you just love the media for promoting this dreckt?

(12,041 posts)This is a video of Bradlee Dean's band, this is the kind of music Michele Bachmann thinks should be playing at school assemblies. I know parents get subjected to enough bad music from their children, but I am guessing that even the parents of Bieber fans would be terrified of the thought of their kids being exposed to this shit.

(53,661 posts)The girls were upset as they said that all the girls who were no longer virgins were sluts and going to hell. And this was at a PUBLIC school. That and the guy's earlier picture reminds me of this:
Uh, are we there yet?

(12,041 posts)I don't think they get invited to schools too much anymore because they have created too much controversy and the principles of the schools that have invited them got lots of bad press and had to deal with lots of angry parents. They used to be in the schools regularly before they pushed their luck too far.

(129 posts)I hadn't heard much from this Dean group lately, but I guess they're still around pestering anyone they can. Who wants to be bothered like this at a store?

(719 posts)They have been banned from setting up at Walmarts after using fake names to get permission to set up in Iowa and Minnesota. They claim to be about suicide prevention, or anti-dbullying (really?), and then set up to sell Dean's "My War" CD and raise money for him.
At this store they did get permission just before I got there. But as soon as I said their name the manager responded and they were booted; so maybe a fake name again. Wonder if they'll try to play this for some attention? Free (hate) speech!
Hey, you may have read the story I wrote. I'm trying to track some stuff on it. Send me an email at josh_moniz@hotmail.com and let know where and when you saw your incident. Thanks!
