I am surprised that he is so old. Because Gandhi died in the 1940s, I did not think of him as being born so long ago - in 1869.

Still, my great grandparents were born in 1875,1874, 1860, 1867, 1840, 1848, 1861 and 1860 and I am only 50.

Language is funny too, because we often say "my great grandfather" as if we have only one of them instead of 4 (barring incest). The line "Gandhi's great grandson" makes it sound like he only has one. Instead of "A great-grandson of Gandhi".

It just hurts to think of Gandhi's legacy ending up so badly.
