Man arrested after abduction attempt at elementary school

A man is in custody after he attempted to abduct an Edison Elementary School student Monday afternoon.

A fifth-grader was walking on Fourth Avenue – about a block from the school – to meet a family member for a ride when a man tried to grab her, according to Diane Ostrowski with the Council Bluffs School District. The man made contact with the girl's arm.

The girl’s father was able to intervene and eventually took the man to the school to wait for police.

if that was my daughter the police would have to rescue him from me.
