I really don't get why he is. He doesn't really make money for the stations he is on. He's a waste of time and money. Most his ramblings border on insane. The rest are insane.

The millions they pay him and Beck every month are the best bargain they've found for maintaining a loyal voting block. What is amazing is it doesn't work on everyone. They've gone out of their way to make sure they hold a monopoly on all forms of media - yet Americans still resist.

He really hasn't changed his show one little bit. I think that they could air something from 1989 and no one would know the difference. I just don't know how people can listen to that repetitive clap trap and not get bored. It's also so obviously racist, misogynist, and aimed at stirring up hate for poor people. Yet, I have known a lot of poor people that listen and nod their heads in agreement. I don't think I am ever going to get it.

Rushbo has never made much money for his affiliates...his show is in the middays one of the lesser important dayparts. He became "popular" cause stations could just plug in his show (especially now using computer automation) and not have to pay their own talents. For many years he was the only show available and with the help of Cheap Channel/Premier replaced hundreds of local shows around the country. There's little else to replace him with...especially now at AM radio is in its death throes.

He and Piers Morgan are the only ones who will express pure outrage. It's great and probably most effective because it's kind of incongruent with their accents and appearances.

Martin Bashir should be used more. He's intelligent, witty and kind yet can lob a zinger when necessary. A winning combination in my book. He would have been a great addition to the election night coverage or whenever they have the bunch of the hosts together.
He is so polite when letting someone have it - they don't know what hit them!

In his inimitable style, Bashir also took down the Tennesse lawmaker who wants to tie a family's welfare allowance to a child's grades in school. The Sen. wants to put the burden of the family welfare (heedless of any family circumstances) on the elementary school kids who fail to get good grades.
Bashir is a joy to watch.
