This Proud Patriotic American will gladly welcome 11 Million already Americans into citizenship

remember, except for the Native Americans, those who already are citizens, are all (something)-American you know

100% amnesty
100% citizenship
100% voting rights
100% equality

btw=people come from all over to be American citizens.
Americans should have 100% voting. It is should be mandatory.
Why some don't vote voluntarily is beyond me. If you don't vote for the names that can win on the ballot, then there should be
no right to whine about it later IMHO

also a proud patriotic citizen of the universe, residing on Planet Earth

while no American seems to be against past immigration and the diverse society it has produced (well, nobody this side of the 'we want our country back', folks), current and future immigration has always been more controversial.

Since at least the Know Nothing Party of the 1840's (and really going back to the anti-Irish and anti-German sentiments of the 18th century) there has always been a segment of society that said "Past immigration is fine. (Otherwise I would not be here.) But enough is enough and we need to stop further immigration. 'Our' culture and economy are threatened by 'them'".

170 years later, things have not changed much in that regard. We may look at the Know Nothings and the Chinese Exclusion Act as an anachronisms from a bygone era, but their sentiments are much in evidence today.

And the 'citizen of the universe and Earth' flies in the face of a nationalism that regards the ol' 1960's "Imagine there's no country" sentiment as a liberal fantasy not to be trusted for use in the real world.

And I agree with everything you said.
